Kicking off (finally) 100 books in 2019!

And so it begins . . .

The plan was to read 100 books before midnight on December 31, 2019. This may seem pretty specific, but, at this point, I'm going to need every one of those 525,600 minutes to reach my goal! Something made me think I could read all those books while teaching full-time at the local elementary school, moving everything my daughter owns to Pennsylvania (including, but not limited to, a family heirloom bassinet - just in case, her beloved, bright-red very-first-apartment-couch, and the treasured Betty Spaghetti dolls she played with as a little girl), preparing for and attending her wedding in California, training for a half-marathon, touching base with our son in Denver every now and again so he doesn't move and forget to tell us, and opening a new business, which also involved, much to my utter and complete confusion, learning how to post things on this website. Thankfully, someone who is very good at what she does actually designed the website for me, and another very kind and patient teaching colleague walked me through how to post these blogs. I've made progress on the reading front as well and am still going for it, 100 books!, unlike the half-marathon (which is not likely to happen anytime this year), even though it recently dawned on me that this means I will actually need to read a book about every 3 to 4 days. Don't let anyone tell you that math skills are not useful in the real world. So, because I actually have been reading, a lot, since January 1, 2019, I've revised my blog plans to start posting book reviews on the books I'm reading presently, and adding in the ones I've read over the last 6 months as I find the time to write them. At this point, I have no concrete idea of how many I've read so far, but I'm pretty sure it's nowhere near the 50 I should have finished by this point in the year. I would love to hear your thoughts and compare reactions and reviews on this blog. After all, there's only one thing better than reading books, and that's talking about books. And so, here we go!
